Babaçu oil
Babaçu oil is made by the women of the Xikrin Indigenous people and is called Menire in their language. The babassu palm (Attalea speciosa) is a highly versatile socio-environmental product used by traditional populations and Indigenous peoples of the Amazon for food and skin and hair care. Babassu oil is light in color and is extracted from the nuts of the babassu coconut, using a combination of traditional management techniques and modern processing technologies to ensure a pure, high-quality product.
