With its striking forest aroma, essential breu oil has powerful therapeutic properties. Carrying the weight and wisdom of Amazonian tradition, breu is rooted in the daily lives of the riverside communities of Uatumã — its striking aroma a sensory link to the forest itself. Its essential oil is traditionally used as a natural tranquilliser, analgesic, bronchodilator and mental stimulant. Extracted from the resin released by the breu tree, this raw material is collected by the community members of the Uatumã Sustainable Reserve (RDS) and transformed into essential oil at the RDS plant. Its production encourages the conservation of the forest and generates income for the community. The first product in the world to have both the Origens Brasil and FSC seals, an achievement of the Agro-Extractivist Association of the Uatumã Sustainable Reserve (AACRDSU) with the support of Idesam. Inatú Amazônia is a collective brand with shared management, a solution that Amazonian communities have developed so that, through their powerful oils or wooden pieces, they are able to promote environmental conservation and improve their quality of life, connecting products of sustainable origin and production to the market.
