CRAFTSMANSHIP
The Mekrãgnoti Kayapó people’s craftsmanship involves a rich and diverse variety of objects made by Kayapó men and women, representing their deep connection to their territory. The division of Kayapó craftwork is established by the social organization of their communities. Women traditionally create rich body paintings and adornments like earrings, bracelets, and necklaces made from glass beads. Men create various objects, including baskets, musical instruments, body adornments, and utility items. Mekrãgnoti crafts uses unique production methods, employing traditional techniques that respect the way of life in the forest, strengthening the transmission of traditional knowledge and the valorization the standing forest.
