Wanzeej Pakup Pit Craft
Handicrafts produced by the skilled hands of the Cinta Larga women of the Roosevelt Indigenous Territory. The collective Wanzeej Pakup Pit, meaning “warrior women” in Portuguese, comprises 40 Indigenous women from the Cinta Larga people. Craftwork is one of the most important activities for these women, who gather to collect raw materials, share production techniques and knowledge, and establish commercial partnerships. They produce various items, including bio-jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings), basketry, and hammocks. The raw materials used are sourced from the forest, such as tucumã, tucum, and inajá coconuts, forest seeds, palm leaves, and cotton.
