BABASSU AND COCOA CAKE MIX

Flavors of the standing forest. Cake mix with babassu and cocoa. Babassu (Attalea speciosa) is a socio-environmental diversity product. It is highly versatile, being used by traditional populations and Indigenous peoples in the Amazon for food, as well as skin and hair care. The flour produced from the babassu mesocarp, collected and processed in mini-mills in the Amazon, is a nutritious ingredient rich in fibre, calcium, iron, and minerals, used in preparing porridges, cakes, and bread. The babassu is harvested by traditional populations and Indigenous peoples in the Amazon. The collection and processing of babassu are carried out by traditional producer and Indigenous peoples who are part of the Terra do Meio Network, an arrangement of community stores and mini-mills in the Xingu Territory.
