Pequi oil
Pequi Oil from the Kĩsêdjê People of the Xingu Territory, extracted by the traditional cold method, concentrates the flavor and nutritional power of the pequi. Pequi oil is produced by the Kĩsêdjê Indigenous people, who live in the Wawi Indigenous Land in the Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX). Pequi is of great importance to the Kĩsêdjê culture, and its oil is appreciated for its unique flavor and aroma, used in various recipes such as pequi rice, chicken stew, salad dressing, dough and for frying. The Hwĩn Mbê Pequi Oil Production Project in Xingu is an initiative of the Kĩsêdjê people of Xingu with the support of the Socioenvironmental Institute (ISA).
